Dr. Haskins graduated from Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. He has been with Northwest Veterinary Clinic since 1978. Dr. Haskins’ primary interests lie in the large animal area of the practice where he devotes his time to horses, alpacas, cows, and the occasional kangaroo. In addition, Dr. Haskins plays an active role in the corporate management of our two clinics – Northwest Veterinary Clinic and Advanced Care Animal Clinic in Smokey Point.
Dr. Haskins married his high school sweetheart, Linda, in 1973. They have four grown children and 10 grandchildren. He likes traveling, driving his antique cars, woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren, and his Morgan horses. He has a Golden Retriever (Jake), two cats (Smokey Joe & Black Tom), and three horses (Winny, Sonny & Ladyhawke)
His memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Washington State Veterinary Medical Association (WSVMA), Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP), American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), Christian Veterinary Mission (CVM), Veterinary Management Group Eleven. Dr. Haskins endeavors to serve the community in a variety of ways through Christian Veterinary Mission trips to Kenya, Haiti, and Brazil. He has also participated in USAID’s Farmer-to-Farmer programs in Belarus and Ukraine. He has been appointed to a five year term as a board member on the Washington State Veterinary Board of Governors. Dr. Haskins is an active participant of the Stanwood-Camano Community Pet Outreach Program. He is on the church council and a praise team member at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Stanwood.
